Incident response

Teams

Group responders behind one on-call schedule or page the entire group as a tiger team.

Version 1.0 Status Needs verification For Tenant administrators teamsresponderson-callescalation

A team gives schedules, escalation policies, and assistance requests a stable group to target. A normal team pages its schedule’s current on-call responder; a tiger team pages every member at once.

Before you begin

You need tenant-owner or tenant-administrator access and at least one enabled responder . If the team’s primary schedule already exists, you can select it while creating the team. Otherwise, create the team without a schedule and attach one afterward.

Create a team

  1. Open On-call → Teams.
  2. In Create team, enter a Name and Slug. The slug must be 3–63 characters, use only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, and begin and end with a letter or number. It must be unique in this workspace. For example: payments-platform.
  3. Add an optional Description.
  4. Under Primary on-call schedule, select an enabled schedule or leave No schedule — page every member selected for now. A schedule can be the primary schedule for only one team.
  5. Under When paged, notify, choose:
    • Just the on-call (from the schedule) for normal rotating ownership; or
    • Every member — tiger team when every member must be paged together.
  6. Under Team members (at least one), select every responder who belongs to the team.
  7. Select Create team.
  8. If you created the team without its intended schedule, create or edit the schedule, associate it with this team, then return to On-call → Teams, select Edit, choose the schedule as Primary on-call schedule, and select Save team.

Choose paging behavior

With Just the on-call, WarnFire resolves the team’s primary schedule when the team is paged. If the team has no primary schedule, WarnFire pages every member instead. Treat No schedule — page every member as an explicit all-member fallback, not as rotating on-call coverage.

With Every member — tiger team, WarnFire pages every enabled team member at the same time. Use this only for response groups that are intended to mobilize together.

Paging cost: A team target can resolve to several people. Each selected SMS or voice delivery consumes allowance or prepaid credits for every destination WarnFire contacts. Review the resolved recipients before testing an all-member fallback or tiger team.

Verify it worked

  1. Confirm that the team appears under On-call → Teams with the expected member count and paging mode.
  2. If the team should use rotating ownership, confirm that its row names the intended schedule rather than no schedule — pages every member.
  3. Select Edit and confirm that the expected members and Primary on-call schedule remain selected.

These checks prove that the team was saved; they do not prove the complete paging path. After a policy and service target the team, run the configuration-readiness and end-to-end test with the intended responders notified in advance.
